Handstand School with Ben Beck

Saturdays – 5:15pm-6:45pm – March 10th through April 14th

Every pose is an opportunity for fullness of being and action. As we humans naturally practice life standing on our feet we are encouraged to move and accomplish tasks/projects. The practice of handstands allows us to turn our perspective on its head and practice stillness and the art of being. Handstands encourage us to receive the blessing of knowing, that achievements do not give us fullness of being, rather they are the expression of it.

In this handstand school, we will be taking time to create range of motion in our joints and learning to use to them together with intention. We will use the breath to burn away stagnation and doubt to cultivate thirst for life and peace from stillness. The classes will be playful and energetic while constantly encouraging mindfulness. On a strictly physical level, these classes will bring increased flexibility and strength.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

Sundays, April 15th-May 20th 6:15pm-8:15pm

Preregistration is required!

Consistent research for 35 years shows significant reductions in medical and psychological symptoms across a wide range of medical diagnoses with this program. It is especially effective for chronic pain and anxiety and/or panic.

The course is 6 weeks. The tools you’ll learn are for a lifetime!

Taught by Greg & Kimball Cicciu this Mindfulness Training is for:
• Changing physical responses to Stress
• Profoundly reducing psychological distress and medical conditions.

The training includes:
• Gentle yoga and mindful stretching
• Guided mindfulness meditations
• Daily home instructions
• Group awareness discussions
• Practical guidance for attentive living

Belly Dance Fusion for All Levels with Elizabeth Ashner

Mondays – April 16th through May 21st, 2018 – 6:30-7:30pm

Learn to belly dance! Based on American Tribal Style® & Fusion Belly Dance, this unintimidating class is a fun way to work out and learn the dance vocabulary! Beginners and intermediate students welcome. Taught by Elizabeth Ashner.

All ability levels, shapes and sizes are welcomed and encouraged! This time-honored dance style isn’t just a beautiful path for fitness. Belly dancing enhances self-expression and self-confidence. Through dancing, we can learn to love and appreciate our bodies exactly as they are, while becoming stronger and more flexible at the same time.

Class Requirements
No previous dance experience is needed.

Yoga for Aging Gracefully with M’Lou Wallis

Sunday, April 22nd 2pm-4pm and Monday, April 30th 9:30am-11:30am

Do you have issues with your tissues? Live long enough, play hard enough and who doesn’t?
M’Lou Wallis is a retired MD, who has been practicing yoga for 47 years. She became certified to teach yoga in 2010. Over the years yoga has helped her to maintain an active lifestyle, to recover from various injuries and surgeries, and to age gracefully.
Join her for two interactive workshops.
Sunday, April 22nd 2pm-4pm
Focused on spinal flexibility and strength, optimizing posture and balance. Also calming,  centering, improving mental focus and clarity.
Monday, April 30th 9:30am-11:30am
Focus will be on living with arthritis, practice and live safely with osteoporosis and practice variation for issues with your tissues.
$25 per session
$40 for both sessions (requires preregistration)
Preregistration is highly recommended.
